Reimagining a stone barn as a versatile living area.
Barn Extension, Glenarm
The clients were keen to explore the potential of a dilapidated stone barn at the back of their garden that had at one time been used as a schoolhouse. A cedar-clad extension was built at first floor level which doubled the area of the existing accommodation to create a versatile annex to the rear of this listed building. The living accommodation is accessed externally via a galvanised steel stair with a landing that offers striking views over Glenarm Bay.
